Stay Hungry • Stay Foolish

"Stay hungry, stay foolish" . This slogan plays a very important role for young people in order that they will become very successful in the future. Those who are successful and those who are not, actually behave differently, they view at life differently, they do things differently and that's why the result are different. Therefore, for those who always stay hungry and foolish they tend to become more successful in their life. They deserve to become successful because they do the right things. They've done those right things not only once or twice but they do it over and over for a long period and I believe that they will keep it on until the end of their life. 

      

      The idea of 'staying hungry, staying foolish' was mentioned by Steve Jobs at the ending comment in the Stanford Commencement in 2005. Nowadays, the job market out there is really competitive. If we want to make more money but only pour in average effort , then success will not be happening in our life! That will always just a dream. Dream comes true only when we do the right things, make more efforts and always stay hungry and stay foolish.

      The word 'HUNGRY' in the slogan means always wanting something more and having constant desire for success while 'FOOLISH' means we should be ready to learn more and having constant desire for knowledge. Why is it staying 'hungry' & foolish is important? Life is just like a game while competition is the main component in the game. The competition is so intense and the change of the market is 'fast and furious'. Only the 'hungriest' and the most 'foolish' will rule the market.

        

HOW & WHY  TO STAY 'HUNGRY' ? 

First of all, we must believe that nothing is too BIG to achieve. We must always aim high, set something that is much higher than we can achieve. So, even though we couldn't get there we still achieve a reasonable result. Also, nothing is too SMALL to ignore. People who only focus on doing big things but they didn't pay attention to details will only end up with failure. Why will it happen? Because they look down on the small things so, they are not able to execute their BIG plan, Next, we should never be complacent. When we are easily satisfied, we will stop ourselves from striving for better thing, better result. That's why we must always move, always be ever progressive. By moving on, we learn something, we gain experiences, we stand up from our failures. 

HOW & WHY TO STAY 'FOOLISH'?

There are people who are born to be geniuses. However, everyone in this world can be successful. It's just a matter of time compared to those who are innate geniuses. Learn to be humble. We should understand that we don't know everything because knowledge is infinite. Furthermore, when we stay 'foolish' at all times ,we will remove our ego and we will never stop learning. Then, we turn to have a 'child-like' attitude. We always desire to learn and learn and learn something that we don't know. Besides learning, we ought to read. Once we have made reading a habit, we eventually realize that we actually do not know much. Last but not least, we must not feel ashamed to ask from others. There's a Chinese proverb which goes, " you can find a 'teacher' out of every three people who 'walk' with you". Sometimes our friend can also be our teacher when we have any doubt. 

      In nutshell, we must stay confident and believe in ourselves. Remove our ego and embrace humility so that learning can take place. Once we understand what successful people do, we can save time on our climb. You only live once, so make it count and go after what you want no matter what!
