Updated Periodic Table
The name and symbols for four newly-discovered elements which is Nihonium (Nh), Moscovium (Mc), Tennessine (Ts), and Oganesson (Og), respectively for component 113, 115, 117, and 118 had been recognized by the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry (IUPAC) on 28 November 2016.
1.
The name
Nihonium of the element Nh 113 was proposed by RIKEN Nishina Center for
Accelerator-Based Science (Japan). The name given is come from Nihon which is
one of the two ways to say "Japan" in Japanese, and literally mean
"the Land of Rising Sun".
2.
The name
Moscovium of the element Mc 115 in recognition of the commitment of the joint
research amongst USA and Russia situated at Moscow of Russia.
3.
The name
Tennessine of the element Ts 117 in recognition of the commitment of joint
research amongst USA and Russia situated at Tennessee of US.
4. The name Oganesson of the
element Og 118 in recognition of the pioneer scientist Professor Yuri
Organessian.
Keeping
with tradition, the new found elements have been named after a place
or geographical region or a scientist. The ending of the names likewise
reflects and maintains historical and chemical consistency: "-
ium" for elements 113 and 115 and as for to all new elements of group
1 to 16, "- ine" for element 117 which belonging to group 17 and
"- on" for element 118 it's belonging to 18.
